If you are a diver looking for a dive resort with incredible diving, amazing food, stunning sunsets and fantastic staff, Ramon's Village is perfect. Ramon's village has beautiful beachfront rooms, but I chose the budget option at Steve and Becky's resort across the street on Coconut Drive. The rooms are so spacious and cozy and designed as colorful British Colonial cottages within the garden setting. I booked my dive package on https://travelpadi.org/  it included 8 dives over 5 days. I spent a bit extra to have the breakfast and dinner package and it was so worth it. If you are diving at Ramon's, I would not purchase the lunch package because they provide a great lunch on the boat during the surface interval. Every morning that I arrived at the restaurant- Pineapples on the Beach- the amazing staff greeted me and knew me by name. There were so many delicious breakfast options and every one I had was incredible. The dinner package includes a soup or salad, entree and dessert. My personal favorite was Roberto's shrimp bisque (see the third left photo from the top) and the crabbed stuffed fish, although every meal I had was 10/10. Their dessert was also incredible, I highly recommend the frozen key lime pie. 

After breakfast, I headed out to the dive shop to get ready. The dive instructors and staff are efficient and kind and made the boat rides more enjoyable. When I went in the middle of June, they were experiencing unusually high winds that made it dangerous to dive at their personal reef 5 minutes offshore. I was able to dive in their personal dive site once and saw so many reef sharks, turtles, a lemon shark (I think) and beautiful coral formations and colorful fish. We got back around 12 pm, which gave me plenty of time to enjoy fresh fruit on the white sands of the resort's beach. When the wind was too dangerous to dive near the resort, we headed out to Turneffe Atoll and Lighthouse Reef Atoll. The reefs were full of beautiful fish, from dramatic spotted drums, trunfish and schools of butterfly fish to large parrotfish, angelfish and groupers. We frequently spotted lobsters and crabs under reefs and nurse sharks sleeping peacefully on the ocean floor. The dive crew provides a delicious lunch of jerk chicken, coleslaw and rice and beans, as well as a variety of fruit after each dive.Toward the end of my last dive at Turneffe, I heard faint clicking noises and saw shadows in the distance. Getting excited, I began investigating and sure enough, a pod of three dolphins appeared in the distance. They were just as curious about me as I was about them, coming within a few feet from me and the other divers. They put on a fantastic show, doing flips and synchronized movements for us. We played with the dolphins until it was time to come up and they continued their show for us at the surface. I was able to dive the Great Blue Hole which holds the record of being the second largest barrier reef in the world. Seeing the blue hole from the boat was breathtaking and the diving was a one of a kind experience. Overall, I would not recommend diving in San Pedro at Ramon's because it will raise your expectations for diving wayyy too much :). Ramon's was phenomenal and I will definitely be returning.
